Sweet Dreams

Sunday, August 18

Devyn and Kinley enjoyed another lazy Sunday in the NICU today. The only major change is that Kinley had her feeding tube removed...again! If she can continue eating well on her own, the doctors will start talking about sending her home again. I love to sit and stare at her monitors because her breathing is so strong and steady, even when she eats. It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, her monitors were going off constantly because her oxygen needed to be adjusted to keep her breathing. I never expected this little 2 lb. 12 oz. baby to be the first to come home!

Kinley's feeding tube is gone again!

Devyn is still fighting to catch up to her sister. She is doing great with her breathing most of the time. Her little body is still struggling to adjust to eating and breathing at the same time. The nurses say that sometimes a light bulb turns on, and just like that, the baby can eat. We hope that happens soon with Devyn. She is such a sweet girl! She loves to snuggle! She even talks the nurses into holding her when we're not there.

Devyn with her latest snuggle partner....Courtney!

Kinley is enjoying the peace and quiet in her crib after her feeding with Mommy.

Devyn MUST have her hands up by her face at all times. If the nurses tuck her arms in when they swaddle her, she fusses and wiggles until she can free them.
