Story Time

Saturday, July 20

Today was a fun day with the girls! There were no changes medically...they continue to do ok with their breathing. The doctor did mention how impressed she is with Kinley's sucking reflex. As soon as she is off her CPAP machine, she will be ready to try bottle feeding (hopefully next week).

Dad was in charge of Devyn's care time tonight. It was quite entertaining for myself and the nurse. First, he had to deal with an extremely dirty diaper (somehow he's managed to miss out on most of those). Then he changed Devyn into a new onesie, which took quite a while. In his defense, however, it is a challenge to dress the girls with all the wires and tubes coming out of them.

He loves changing dirty diapers. Love that face!

A breakdown of Dad dressing Devyn:
Step 1- Locate onesie.

Step 2-Manuever onesie over head...minding the oxygen and feeding tubes coming from her head.

Step 3- Pull onesie down over rest of baby. (Umm...Dad you have to pull her arms through the holes!).

Step 4- Still pulling arms through the holes...

Step 5- Success! Devyn looks worn out:-)

Tonight Rachel and Jay came to visit the girls. They brought the girls some wonderful gifts, including a Dr. Suess book.
