Today was another happy day in the NICU! Devyn and Kinley both had great days again. The doctor is beginning to lower both girls' respiratory support (slowly) as they continue to maintain their oxygen levels on their own. Kinley continues to do very well after her blood transfusion. The only major change in their health is that both girls were a little low on sodium in their last lab work, so they are both getting a couple doses throughout the day.
Because the girls' breathing was very stable today, they were each allowed to spend quite a bit of time out of their beds. This was very good news for Grandma and Grandpa Marsh who drove in from Albuquerque today!
Devyn was especially spoiled. She was held by Jessica, Aaron, AND Grandma!
A swaddled Kinley with Mom. I love holding her this way because I can actually see her face!
More good news came tonight before we left the hospital. The night nurse did the girls' weigh-in. Devyn now ways 4 POUNDS!!! What a chunk:-) And Kinley now weighs 3 lbs. 6 oz. Both girls continue to receive an additive to their milk which increases the calorie count. They are both eating (via feeding tube) about an ounce every 3 hours.
(Above) Kinley likes to be comforted by Mom's hands when she's upset. (Below) Devyn is relaxing in her nest.
Kinley was so tired tonight she slept through her entire care time. Here she's snuggling with her gel pillow.
