Miss Kinley has decided that she doesn't want to leave her sister behind at the hospital. She has chosen to become quite the difficult eater lately. There are times when she still gulps her entire bottle in minutes, but then for the next few feedings she will either refuse the bottle, or fall asleep while eating. Her weight gain has slowed and the doctor ordered that she return to the 24 calorie milk. She does love to nurse though! She had to be cut off today so that she did not mess up her feeding schedule.

Kinley continues to do very well off of her breathing support. She still struggles from time to time during feedings, but for the most part she's doing great! Today Grandma Carol got to hold her for the first time. She was too sick to be taken out of her incubator when Grandma was here back in June.

Devyn is finally starting to do better during her feedings. She is now allowed to try a bottle twice per shift, or 4 times daily. She is now taking around 15-20 cc's per feeding, and then gets the remainder through her tube. Her oxygen was changed to a low-flow yesterday, which is a little less support, and she seems to be doing fine.
Devyn is still asleep....
Daddy came to the hospital after work tonight after Grandma and I had gone home. While he was holding Devyn the nurse brought Kinley over (since she's not hooked to as many machines). He got to be the first to hold both girls at the same time. I am a little heartbroken that I missed it:-(
Daddy and his girls!
I love this picture of J. He literally has his hands full!!! Looks like a glimpse of his future with two little cutie "Marsh"mellows :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Auntie Maudy
This Grandma had an amazing time these last few days. Lots of hugs and kisses for Devyn and Kinley. I think Justin & Kali truly have made the most beautiful babies in the whole world. Now it's Grandma Carol's turn for hugging and kissing. Thanks for everything Justin & Kali. See you soon!
