Another quiet day has come and gone. Today marks 50 days that the girls have been in the hospital...hard to believe!
There is not much to report today. Kinley has been doing very well with her bottles. She often eats her entire feeding from the bottle, rather than having it through her feeding tube. It won't be too long before they remove it entirely.
"Yeah, I just drank an entire bottle and am still awake. So what???" -Kinley
Devyn is having a harder time with the suck-swallow-breathe coordination. She sucks the milk from the bottle like she's starving, but then forgets to breathe. Her oxygen levels drop and then she gets sleepy and stops eating. But, it's only been a couple days of bottle feeding for her. She'll get better with time. Currently, she's allowed to try a bottle only once per shift (or twice a day). Most of her feedings are still given through her tube.
Devyn's big stretch!
Real men wear pink...and so do baby girls.
Kinley was still acting hungry after her bottle....it must be time to increase her feeds again!
